Description

Get out.

Walk around the car.

Open the tailgate.

Only then reach the trunk and your gear?

Nope!

Rear storage is always accessible from above.

Even in the T5, the Multiflex board annoyed me.

In the California it's a wooden or mesh panel, in the Multivan a super heavy relic that seems to have been around since the T1 ...

Common to both and their unimaginative imitations: You can’t access your gear underneath!

In our previous VW bus, it started with Euro boxes under the board, then a foldable bed frame to finally access everything without walking around the car. Or squeezing between the sleeper bench and the C-pillar :/

For our T6 Beach, we then developed the self-supporting frame for Euro boxes as a camping box system solution shown here.

You can freely divide the space (111 x 65 x 51 cm W x D x H) as needed. For example, in widths of 40 + 40 + 30 cm according to the standardized container sizes.

Why settle for one camping box when you can have 23?

Each Euro box gives you lightweight, waterproof, and load-bearing storage space.

The stackable boxes fit seamlessly and securely on top of each other. Standard plastic lids already support ~20 kg. Reinforced or with weight distributed by cushions, each one becomes a comfortable seating area. If you place several side by side, they work well for a nap even without a topper.

To fill them with supplies, clothes, and gear, you can carry the boxes into your house individually or stacked, then load them into your campervan once packed.

In short: Each Euro box is already a great camping box. The only downside is that they're not easy to secure.

Secure frame as a camping box system base

The frame made of 30 x 30 mm VANRAIL aluminum T-slot profiles secures the Euro boxes in the rear, both in driving direction and sideways.

In the first level, we used 60 x 40 cm containers for supplies. Above that, 30 x 40 cm boxes for water and gear.

Side boxes hold clothes in packing cubes. Window pockets still fit above them.

Flat sleeping surface below

In the first version, we used individual 35 mm thick cushions on top of the camping box lids.

Together with the self-inflating air mattresses we use flexibly in the pop-top and below, this makes for a very comfortable sleeping surface. You can also continue to use a topper and store it, for example, between the bench and the system or in front of the tailgate behind the camping box.

The images show the current version of the sleeping pad. It now features one lightweight 3D mesh pad per box, laminated with automotive felt.

We’re happy to custom-make either version on request, while working to offer them in the shop.

We’re not fans of rear slides.

A rear slide is bulky, heavy, and wastes space.

Instead of structured organization, it encourages random stuffing ... because you can access everything ... :#

Organized in two or three levels, I can always access all supplies and gear from above and from inside the vehicle. I always know where everything is.

A camper’s best friend: options

If you really want to, just add a rear slide within the frame. The 30 mm slot profiles are secured at a minimum of 4 points in the rails or on the vehicle floor and can easily support full-extension slides.

The 12-volt socket in the trunk of the Multivan and California remains free for the cool box. The optional support can be configured in height to keep a flat sleeping surface above. Tip: For a weekend trip, a simple cool box is enough. Inexpensive options made of styrofoam etc. are readily available at wholesale stores.

How about a lying and seating area under the tailgate, stargazing through the rear window? Works!

Which option are you dreaming of?

🕐 New Product Ideas

A missing coat hook in our first California led to my invention: THE well-known hook for the pop-up roof, our ABHÄNG.

Why drill into your bus? From my incomprehension of this and the limited headroom under the existing roof cabinets, our EINFACH was born.

Every idea matures between my own ears, from actual need and missing solutions.

🕑 Thoughtful Product Design

Initial sketches turn into prototypes.

Once I'm convinced, I construct it using CAD, based on the already specific dimensions.

The design is then implemented with 3D printing and in the workshop, then being tested.

In the refinement process, I remove unnecessary parts from the design.

🕒Tested in Camping Life

Nicole and I take new accessories on tour directly with our bumblebee (aka T6 California Beach).

Is a contour not perfect, or is a feature not used while camping?

If so, it gets adjusted and tested again. And possibly again...

Only what convinces us over a season and proves its value gets produced.

🕓 Made in Northern Germany

We found our production partners within a few kilometers of us.

This guarantees short distances and quick, personal agreements by handshake.

Small series' production ensures fast adjustments, even with your suggestions.
